 Requiring over two years to complete, there was considerable attention to detail and craftsmanship much with historical significance. An important part of the property history is the unique rod iron metal work accenting the porch and veranda which came from the location of the famous 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates. As one of the areas important historic sites, Highpoint Inn has changed little from early photos of the estate. Care has been given with improvements to preserve the initial architectural design of the property. Today, Highpoint Inn has the features and important amenities of a first class bed and breakfast together with maintaining the charm and character of special properties of that by gone era.
